Adams town is about 13 miles northeast of Pendleton on Wildhourse Creek. It was named for John F. Adams, part of whose homestead is now included in the town. The post office was established July 9, 1883, with William H. McCoy, postmaster.

The city park includes a tennis court. There are underground tours available, also you will find the Pendleton Woolen Mills, Swim Park, Athletic Center, Tennis Club, and the Pendleton Round-Up; You will be about 40 miles to Tollgate Ski Park and about 40 miles to Whitman Mission.
